Free From Skincare awarded silver on the European market
THIRD-GENERATION beekeeper Trish O’Neill has been awarded Silver in the Hand and Nail Care
category of the 10th annual European FreeFrom Skincare Awards. Trish’s Honey Products is based in the
Dunhill Ecopark in Co. Waterford and produces certified organic skincare and honey products, taking the
product from the hive to the home. Her now award-winning Beeswax Handcream is one of her most
popular products.
The prestigious FreeFrom Skincare Awards celebrate the work of innovative cosmetic manufacturers,
who strive to produce cosmetic and skincare products which are free from the allergens, fragrance and
ingredients found in mainstream products. The awards were held in July this year, following a full month
of intense testing. Over 300 entries were received from 15 countries.The successful Dunhill business went
through four rigorous rounds of testing, excelling in the areas of product ingredients, consumer versatility,
labelling quality, and overall product value.
Speaking after the awards, Trish said, “I am delighted to have been awarded Silver in the FreeFrom

industry testers. It makes all the hard work worth it to bring the consumer sustainable products that work

The final product from hive to home was a culmination of Trish’s love for beekeeping, and her own
personal journey with allergies. Having struggled in vain to find a product that would “care not damage”
both the skin and the environment, Trish used necessity as the driving force for what would eventually
become the award-winning Trish’s Honey Products.
Today, a full suite of superior quality honey-based products are produced, packaged and sold, including
hand and body butter, honey-based rosehip facial balm, honey soap, and cleansing oil. The product line
continues to develop as the hunger grows in the market for organic solutions for skincare. Consumer
studies show a 740% growth in organic skincare sales on the high street so far in 2021, with recognition
from prestigious awards such as FreeFrom Skincare paving the way for even further growth.
